Summer Reading  2025 & Our Free Programs

Dear Library Participants,

The Millville Public Library Summer Reading Program is a fun way to include reading and related activities into summer family time. It helps children maintain and improve their reading skills. One great way to keep your family reading is to join us at the Millville Public Library for the Color our World summer reading theme.

Beginning July 1st and wrapping up August 20th, there are activities, challenges, and events for all ages to participate in during the summer. Don’t worry if you start late, we also have a plan for that.

Reading expert Stephen Krashen says: Children read more when they listen to and discuss books. Families who read and discuss books teach children to associate reading with affection. Reading helps improve children’s writing- In other words, keeping reading skills sharp over the summer will benefit the whole family.

We want to help. We have reading challenges and prizes to encourage students to keep reading. There are fun activities and events planned around art and science, special guests who will bring animals to the library, along with a reading log meant to inform and engage all ages of children and keep you coming back to the library.

This will be our best Summer Reading Program yet!

Help us discover the ways we Color our World at your Library this summer,
